FAQ

How long will it take to complete the repairs?

We try to complete most repairs the same day. If this is not possible, we will provide you with special transportation arrangements.

How much will it cost?

We totally get wanting to know the price upfront! Since every repair is a little different, I’ll need a few more details to give you an exact estimate.

My car is running rough. Do I need a tune-up?

A rough-running car doesn’t always mean you need a tune-up—but it does mean you shouldn’t ignore it. The sooner you get it checked, the easier (and cheaper) it usually is to fix.

Is there a charge to check out my car?

We do not charge a fee just to check out your car in most cases. Our goal is to make it easy and stress-free for you to understand what’s going on with your vehicle.

Do I need an appointment for a repair?

For most repairs, an appointment is recommended to ensure we can give your vehicle the time and attention it needs. However, we understand that issues can come up unexpectedly—so we do our best to accommodate same-day or urgent requests whenever possible.

What credit cards do you take?

We accept most major credit cards for your convenience, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. If you have a specific payment method in mind, feel free to ask!

Why does my car need maintenance if it's running fine?

Regular maintenance of your vehicle protects your investment, helps to prevent breakdowns, and will save you on the cost of repairs in the future.

What will happen if I don't have the repairs done right now?

If the repairs aren’t handled right away, the issue will usually continue to get worse over time. What might be a small, affordable fix now can turn into a much more expensive and time-consuming repair later. In some cases, it can also lead to additional damage to other parts of your vehicle or even leave you stranded unexpectedly.

What Should I Do When My Check Engine Lights Come On?

If your check engine light is on, the smartest move is to have it checked quickly—before a small issue turns into a major repair.

How Often Should I Have My Brakes Checked?

As a general rule, you should have your brakes checked at least once a year or every 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, if you do a lot of city driving, sit in stop-and-go traffic, or frequently carry heavy loads, more frequent checks are a smart idea.

It’s also important to pay attention to warning signs. If you notice squeaking or grinding noises, vibrations when braking, a soft brake pedal, or longer stopping distances, don’t wait—have your brakes inspected right away.

What Type of Oil Filter Do I Need?

The right oil filter depends on your vehicle’s make, model, engine size, and year—there isn’t a one-size-fits-all option. Using the correct filter is important because it keeps your engine oil clean and protects your engine from wear and damage.

There are a few common types of oil filters:

  • Standard (Spin-On) Filters – The most common type, easy to replace
  • Cartridge Filters – Found in many newer vehicles, uses a replaceable filter element
  • High-Performance Filters – Designed for better filtration and longer life
  • Synthetic Media Filters – Ideal if you’re using full synthetic oil

If you’re not sure which one your car needs, don’t worry—that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Do I Really Need Winter Tires?
  • If you regularly drive in snow, ice, or freezing rain → Yes, absolutely.
  • If temperatures in your area consistently drop below 45°F → Strongly recommended.
  • If you only see occasional cold snaps and no snow → All-season tires may be enough.

Here in warmer regions, many drivers can get by without winter tires—but if you travel to colder areas or want maximum safety during cold months, they’re a smart investment.
